The Community Housing Coalition of Madison County (CHC) recruits, trains, and coordinates over 1,000 volunteers annually through their Local Volunteer (year-round) and Summer Volunteer programs.
Volunteers are at the heart of everything CHC does and they hope to bring additional members of the community into their volunteer pool — for fun, satisfying work projects that make a HUGE difference in the lives of some of our neighbors.
The typical request for CHC assistance requires three (or more) major repairs, such as roof, bathroom, ramps, well or septic repair or replacement. A critical function of each and every repair project CHC takes on is initial on-site assessment of the needs to develop total scope of the project.
At least eight weekend projects for 2020 are scheduled. Please contact Stephanie or call 828-649-1200 to volunteer.
In the words of one of our volunteers… “The Local Volunteers work day was a great way to meet new people, an opportunity to use and learn home repair skills, while making a difference in the lives of the people we were helping. AND it was FUN!”
