In addition to the above funds from the club budget, the Board of Directors of the affiliated Madison County NC Rotary Foundation also granted the following recovery related funds:

• Madison County Schools – $25,000 to fund an after school tutoring program to help make up for lost skills as a result of Hurricane Helene impact on students.

• Madison County Community Learning Centers Inc. – $5,000 to help fund an expansions of the Woodson Branch School after- school enrichment programs focusing on youth who were impacted by Hurricane Helene

• Madison County Schools trauma counseling program – $3,000

• Travel scholarships for Middle School hurricane-impacted students to attend the Washington DC spring trip. $2,412

Although the Rotary Club has disbursed about $55,000 in Disaster Recovery funds to date, the need is still great and we were unable to fund many worthy grant requests. But we hope to revisit that list in the future.
