Meghan Thomas Exhibition

Shattered Stereotypes: Be a Man, Like a Girl is the title of the current photographic exhibition at Weizenblatt Gallery on the campus of Mars Hill University. Meghan Thomas, a senior from Marion, VA, is the artist behind the exhibition, which will be open from November 10 through December 12. The gallery is open from 10 am – 4 pm each weekday in the Moore Building of Mars Hill University. In this exhibition, Thomas has used her photographs to explore the expectations of society on individuals and how those expectations affect our treatment of each other and our self concepts.
Puppy Day and Kitten Corner Fundraiser and Adoption Event

Puppy Day and Kitten Corner is a fundraiser for the Madison County Animal Foundation and a public adoption event filled with high-octane cuteness! From 2-6 pm, students who want to play with a puppy will pay only $3 for 15 minutes or $5 for 30 minutes of cuddle time with puppies and kittens. All proceeds will go to the foundation. Beginning at 6 pm, members of the community are free to visit with the puppies and kittens and consider adoption.

Join The Liston B. Ramsey Center for Regional Studies at Mars Hill University for a spectacular winter concert of traditional music, featuring Roger Howell, Bobby Hicks, Whitewater Bluegrass, Laura Boosinger, Jerry Sutton, Kathryn Brickey, Rhiannon Ramsey, and many more talented musicians! Bailey Mountain Cloggers Silent Auction and Performance

Silent Auction: 3-5 pm; Performance: 5 pm. Cost: $5 for performance.
The Bailey Mountain Cloggers are hosting their 9th Annual Silent Auction & Performance. It will be held in Moore Auditorium at MHU December 6, 2014, from 3:00pm-6:00pm. The performance will begin at 5:00pm. The auction will consist of vacation packages, local arts/crafts, restaurant gift certificates, and much more. The cost for the performance is $5, and children under 6 are free. The 21 time national champion team will be performing the routines that earned them their newly 21st National Title. All proceeds will benefit the cloggers in their efforts to represent the United States in an international folk dance festival.
