About the Madison County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship
Recognizing that our young people are the county’s most important investment, the Chamber established the Madison County Chamber of Commerce Education Scholarship Endowment with the Madison County Community Foundation (an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation) in 2001. The Endowment Fund supports Madison County students in their pursuit of a higher education by providing an annual scholarship award to a worthy Madison County student.

Eligibility Criteria
Students who fit the following eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply for this scholarship from the North Carolina Community Foundation.
-
- Students must be residents of Madison County for at least one year who will be enrolled full time (12 or more credit hours) and have a GPA of 2.5 or above.
- Students must submit a 1-page essay addressing the following question: What economic changes have you seen in Madison County over the last 4 or 5 years, and what do you hope to see for our County in the next decade?
The scholarship application and selection process will be handled by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. The Committee has developed a flyer about the scholarship that is distributed at Madison High School, and to financial aid officers of area community colleges, colleges, and universities, thus enabling any Madison County resident who has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate to apply.
The Chamber is especially interested in students who plan to return to Madison County as our future business leaders.
Scholarship awards are made in the late spring or early summer; scholarship payments are made directly to the student’s college or university. To apply or to learn more about this scholarship and others, visit nccommunityfoundation.org/scholarships.
