The Bailey Mountain Cloggers – the 21-time national champion dance team from Mars Hill University — will offer a Clogging & Southern Appalachian Dance Workshop on Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 9 am until 12 noon in the studios of McConnell Hall on the Mars Hill campus.
The cost for the workshop will be $10 at the door and dancers at all levels of experience are welcome. Preregistration is not required.
The talented, energetic students from the BMC will offer lessons in clog dance, square dance and line dance for beginners through advanced dancers. Participants can kick up their heels and have some fun while learning the basics of a Southern Appalachian Hoedowns, flatfoot, buck dance or country line dance.
Below is the schedule of classes.
· 9:00am Studio 1- Square Dance, Buck Dance, and Drag Slide Clogging (all levels welcome)
· 9:00am Studio 2- Country Line Dancing (All Levels)
· 10:00am Studio 1- Traditional Footwork and Partner Turns (Intermediate)
· 10:00am Studio 2- Advanced Clogging Steps (Advanced)
· 11:00am Studio 1- Hoedowns, Smooth Mountain Square Dance, & Fun Dances (All Levels)
· 11:00am Studio 2- Intermediate Clogging Steps (Intermediate)
