Commute Friendly WNC Lunch & Learn

1/3 of Americans don’t have a driver’s license — whether they’re too old, too young, disabled, disadvantaged, or car-free by choice — that’s a significant portion of Western North Carolina.

If you’re a member of a business, nonprofit, government office, college, or university in the Land of Sky Region, and you want to work toward removing transportation as a barrier to employment and educational opportunities, this program is for you.

Commute Friendly WNC is a brand new program designed to be a partnership to increase access to transportation resources. It’s meant to help workplaces and campuses support their people who use multimodal transportation. It rewards organizations that go the extra mile to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality, and creates a roadmap for increasing commuter choices.

Land of Sky is hosting a launch party for interested organizations on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 12:30-2 p.m. This will be an info session and networking event. Perfect for HR managers, executive directors, presidents, sustainability officers, or other organizational decision makers. Lunch will be provided at the Land of Sky Regional Council office (339 New Leicester Hwy, #140, Asheville). Please share with your favorite local business, your best local nonprofit, and your boss!
