Beacon of Hope’s expanded food pantry is now officially open in downtown Marshall.
Beacon of Hope is currently providing weekly food assistance to 1,700 families each month. They have seen a tremendous increase in the need for food assistance since the continued government shutdown on top of key food assistance programs either being defunded and/or having their budgets drastically cut.
Neighbors can shop for themselves, choosing foods they like. They go by the milk crate system, with a household of 1-3 able to fill up 2 milk crates and households of 4-6 able to fill up 4 milk crates.
Beacon of Hope is an equal opportunity provider, who welcomes everyone, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.
The new food pantry is located at 148 South Main Street in Marshall, NC. For more details, call (828) 649-5012, or visit bohmarshall.org.
