Chamber member Jack Thomas has written a book about Madison County which has just been released by Grateful Steps, Inc. in Asheville.
Titled Traveling to Marshall, the book recounts events that took place in the area and across the South when he was a pastor in Marshall during the 1960s.
It reveals the history of his own family and the families of other ministers during that era – and how they all came to Madison County. The book features narratives drawn from interviews with people across the county.
You can purchase copies of Traveling to Marshall from the MHU bookstore, Penland’s Store in Marshall, Bluff Mountain Outfitter in Hot Springs, or from the publisher, Grateful Steps Foundation in Asheville.
